13 year old Joshua Demarest, and 12 year old Tyler Day, 12 were playing in a snow bank on Rock Street in Greenwich when a dump truck accidentally dumped tons of snow on the boys late on Tuesday night.

Several people got on their hands and knees and dug out thousands of pounds of snow to try to find the two boys in the snow bank.

They found the boys and pulled them out, but unfortunately it was too late. Demarest died shortly after 10 p.m. at Saratoga Hospital. Day survived the accident and is at home recovering from hypothermia,

Friends and family say the boys were nearly inseparable.

A moment of silence was held at school on Wednesday for Joshua as his teachers and classmates remembered him and his love for sports and making everyone laugh.  Football was his favorite and his number was 43, so today, friends at school wore his number in honor and memory of him.

Everyone her at 'GNA is thinking of and praying for the families who were involved in this tragedy.
