There’s an 18-year-old young lady who is on a mission. Her name Is Jamielee, and she will be doing something special for our military this weekend.

Next Friday and Saturday (Nov. 29 and Nov. 30) she is going to be sitting at a table that will be set up outside the Nassau Stewart's shop at 19 Albany Avenue. She’ll be there between 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. both days.

Now here’s where you can help - She will be collecting donations of things like hand soap, tooth brushes, tooth paste and all kinds of toiletries to send to our troops overseas.

Here’s what I’m calling the personal touch - She would like people to send a special holiday card to a soldier overseas. Jamielee will be supplying the cards and she’ll accept monetary donations to help with the cost of sending the cards to our soldiers overseas. She also told me that if “people just want to spread joyful cheer, they can write something cheerful in the card and a random soldier overseas would love to read it and realize that they're not alone on the holidays".

I believe that this holiday season is going to be a little tougher on her. She told me the she has a boyfriend, who is a Marine, currently stationed in North Carolina. Another friend, who is also a Marine, is stationed over in Japan. She also has a close friend who is in the National Guard and is being deployed next August.

She said that “I realize how much the two marines miss their family and hear how much my friend Ryan, a national guard soldier, is going miss his home when he leaves".

Next Friday and Saturday, let’s help Jamielee cheer up our military personnel this holiday season. She also told me that if you have any questions, you can email her.
