Habitat For Humanity ReStore’s Grand Opening In Colonie
Those of us that travel on Fuller Road in Colonie have gone by this place thousands of times, and now we may want to stop in if we need something for home improvement.
The former site of The Holbrook Lumber Company, a wholesale lumber company, is now The Habitat ReStore.
The Times Union has a story about their grand opening. I believe the ReStore has been open for a week or two, but now, on Oct. 5 at 9:30 a.m., they’re having the grand opening. The ReStore was previously located in Albany’s warehouse district, but is now in a bigger location at 70 Fuller Road.
What the Habitat ReStore is, is where you can purchase building materials, furniture, tools and more that are gently used. Some of the merchandise may also be new. Everything has been donated by Albany area people, organizations or businesses. They resell it at a discounted price, and use the funds for Habitat For Humanity to build new places for people in the Albany area.
This is a great recycling and repurposing effort.
