We are very lucky to be in an area surrounded by beauty and fun things within driving distance! Whether you wanna go to a big city like Manhattan or Boston, or you wanna do something a little more specific like Cooperstown for the Baseball Hall of Fame, Harpursville for the Animal Adventure Park or Verona for Turning Stone Casino we have plenty to do within the area. But, what about the outdoor summer fun?

I headed out to enjoy some of that, myself this weekend. We had beautiful weather on Sunday and mama needed some sun! Where to go? Grafton!

I've only been once before and what I enjoy about Grafton is the fact you have options. If you want to go just to lounge around on the sand, you can definitely do that. But, you have the option to walk the trails of the surrounding state park, you can rent canoes and head out onto the lake, you can rent the picnic areas and have a party - the fun is really never ending.

Honestly, I would have thought it being a "holiday" weekend of sorts that the beach would have been packed and it wasn't. Or at least it didn't feel it, which is the most important thing. The people were being respectful (for the most part), it wasn't too loud, kids were having fun, the water was nice and the sun felt great!

I would definitely recommend it for a fun, cheap day out in the summer sun. Just $8 gets you into the park, it's a simple 30 minute ride from Clifton Park and you can pack a picnic and enjoy with the whole family!
