Golfing With Countryfest Headliner Darius Rucker

Darius Rucker is headlining 1077 'GNA Countryfest 2013 on July 13th in Schaghticoke, and when he's not on the stage he is always looking for ways to help others.Darius hosts a huge charity golf tournament each year at August and it always held around the Masters tournament. His friends in the PGA and music always come to his aid and they raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in a few short days. Darius also has a smaller scale tournament that he began in Nashville to help St. Jude. I was blessed to have been invited by him to play in that tournament a few years ago and it was a great day for a great cause. My playing partners and I finished dead laugh and we received a crystal engraved trophy that said "I should have played tennis." I'm not kidding. Darius Rucker is a great human being and performer and when you add Sheryl Crow, Joe DIffie, Easton Corbin, Greg Bates, Mark Wills and Joel Crouse to the lineup it only gets more awesome! Darius actually played with Jake Owen that day and had a great round. Jake Owen actually had his PGA card at one time and is an incredible golfer, so ask him to play in your next tournament. LOL
