1987- George Strait sails to No. 1 with 'Ocean Front Property.'  In addition to the single hitting No. 1, the album becomes the first of his albums to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums charts.

1985-  Proof that they are the hottest act in country music, The Judds grab their first gold album for 'Why Not Me.' The album includes the duos' first No. 1, 'Mama, He's Crazy.'
