I remember when I was in elementary school, we had a reading competition. I think it was a "turn off the tv" type of thing. The goal was to get so many hours by the students and if we hit said goal, our principal at the time would kiss a pig. It seems so silly now, but as a kid under 10, I was all about it.

What I think is super cool and wouldn't look back at and say, "that was silly" is what a handful of Shenendehowa Fourth Graders got to experience Thursday morning.

The artistic skills of the Shen 4th grade class were put to the test for Fire Prevention Week. The posters were to stand out and include fire safety information with there being one winner from each class. The prize? Skipping the bus trip into school and getting picked up by the Clifton Park fire crews in, you guessed it, a fire truck! How cool!

I've never wanted to be a fourth grader again so badly.
