Flu Cases are Rising in the Capital Region
It's not too late to get your flu shot, but even if you got one, you may not escape getting the flu this season. The latest data shows that cases of the flu in New York state are rapidly rising. Health officials say that New York state is seeing more cases of flu this season than in past years. According to WKBW.com, There are over ten thousand confirmed cases of the flu as of January 4th. There is almost an equal amount of Type A and Type B flu this season. The number of flu cases is up nearly three thousand from 2017.
There is a New York state flu tracker that breaks down how many cases of the flu are in each county. In the Capital Region, Saratoga County has the most cases of the flu with seventy-nine reported. Erie County in Western New York is reporting four hundred twenty cases and Suffolk County on Long Island has six hundred forty-one cases of the flu reported.
