Each year the Saratoga Race Course brings in famous celebrities from all over the country to bet on the horses, one had such an attachment to the area, their family as decided to make it their final resting place.

We knew that David Cassidy spent a lot of time in and around the Capital Region but there are reports that I saw on the Times Union that Cassidy's family has decided to spread his ashes at the Saratoga Race Course. Cassidy was a regular at the track before he passed away from organ failure in November.

No word on when the ceremony will happen, most likely in private, but it was announced that there will be a David Cassidy Memorial Race on August 18th in his honor (race time still being determined according to the race Facebook page).

In a recent A&E documentary, Cassidy has admitted to drinking being the cause for his odd behavior, not dementia as previously reported. He said that he lied to family and friends telling them that he was cleaning up.

It's a sad ending to a beautiful career starting with "The Partridge Family," at least now he'll be able to attend each and every race at Saratoga from here on out.
