Experience The Thrill Of Driving Your Car At Watkins Glen
Opening weekend for Watkins Glen International is upon us and you could be driving your ride through the twists and turns of the legendary road course.
Have you ever watched a NASCAR race, or any race for that matter, at Watkins Glen and imagined what it would be like to navigate your way through all those lefts and rights? During the opening weekend at the track, you will have the opportunity to do so in your own car!
Watkins Glen announced today April 10th and 11th they will be holding their opening weekend and giving regular folks like you and me chance to drive a few laps while helping out a great cause. Tickets are on sale now for $30 to run your car for 3 paced laps around the almost 3 and a half-mile track and proceeds will benefit the Racing And Community Enrichment (R.A.C.E.) program which Watkins Glen says works to "...meet the needs of local underserved populations with a focus on youth-oriented support."
Now during some paced laps, you may not get the thrill of some g-force heading into all those twists and turns, but you can certainly get the same real-life vision of the track that your favorite NASCAR driver sees when they compete at the Glen. And even during a paced lap, you can still have fun repeating all your favorite Days of Thunder and Talladega Nights movie quotes.
If you want to get a feel of what it's like to navigate Watkins Glen, tickets for opening weekend are on sale now here. If you cannot make it opening weekend, daily opportunities throughout the season to drive the Glen are also offered.
