Yonder Farms was a Colonie institution for years.

Known for its apples, amazing baked goods (Miss those cider donuts!), and gift shop, it was sad news when we learned earlier this year the beloved spot was closing permanently

While we will always miss Yonder Farms, something pretty cool is being planned for the location, which will bring a whole different level of culinary—and, in this case, liquid—enjoyment!

Broken Loop Brewing Co. To Take Over Yonder Farms Barn & Property

I think this is going to be the perfect establishment for this spot!

According to a Times Union report, Brooken Loop Brewing Co., a new restaurant/brewery, plans to open at the corner of New Karner Road and Albany Street this summer. The Times Union says the location will undergo many upgrades before opening, including the installation of a '7 barrel brewing system.' While the building will undergo many repairs, owners say it will still have the same look and feel as the old Yonder Farms.

After the opening of Tree House Brewing in Saratoga recently, Broken Loop will be another welcome addition to the bustling Capital Region craft beer scene. In addition, it will fill a void that will be left with O'Toole's getting ready to close in late May. A new restaurant and bar will be a welcome new addition and option to the area dining scene along Central Avenue in Colonie.

Chances are you may run into several of us from the radio station hanging out here when it opens, with its close prozimity to our studios!
