A new report published by the American Meteorological Society says the world's climate is continuing to get warm.  It's also adding greenhouse gases that trap heat within the atmospher even faster than previous years.  Great news, right?

The director of the National Climatic Data Center, Thomas Karl, released the annual State of the Climate report for 2010 at a teleconference this week.  He stated, "The indicators show unequivocally that the world continues to warm."  He also said, however, "The warmer conditions are consistent with events such as heat waves and extreme rainfall (Times Union)."

The earth has been gradually getting warmer each month for the last 25 years.  In 2010, the percentage of of carbon dioxide  increased by 2.6 parts per million in the atmosphere.  I'm wasn't sure exactly what that meant at first, but apparently, carbon dioxide is thee number one greenhouse gas accumulating in the air.  Which also means, its the number one reason for the climate to be getting warmer and warmer.

A few years back, former Vice President and Presidential candidate Al Gore, came out with his strong advocacy for preservation of the Earth and information on global warming.  Today, people still don't believe the climate is changing and there is any true evidence that emissions from factories, nuclear plants, cars, etc. are having a huge, direct impact on the atmostpher.  What do you think?
