It's a holiday tradition for a lot of Albany area people, to go and watch the lighting of the Christmas tree in front of the New York State Capitol building, in Albany.
The 35 foot Blue Spruce, which is about 40-years-old, has been donated by a Rotterdam family. It was shipped on Wednesday. The lighting of the tree will be on Sunday, December 4 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. There are a few family festivities that take place on that day to celebrate the annual tradition.
The tree will be set up in East Capitol Park.
