This not the first time that he’s been accused of stealing. The suspect is a urologist: 63-year-old Dr. Peter M. Hughes.

He was arrested after he was caught allegedly stealing a pair of reading glasses from the Hannaford store. This incident happened on Monday night. While he was in Queensbury Town Court for the incident, Hughes made the claim that “he tried on the glasses to read a label on flowers he was buying and forgot to take them off before he left”. According to New York State Police, Hughes was charged with Petit Larceny.

Hughes had been previously arrested last summer for allegedly stealing items from the garage of one of his former employees. He told authorities that the items actually belonged to him. After they spoke with the owner, he told them that they did not. Hughes was charged with Burglary in the third degree for the garage incident. According to the article in The Post Star, the charge was reduced back in December and possible dismissal of charges.
