Discount Outdoor Retailer To Open New Colonie Center Store
Another new outdoor outfitter has plans to open a new Capital Region location.
Over the last few months, we have had a few updates on new outdoors and sporting goods retailers opening stores in the Capital Region.
Earlier this year, Dick's Sporting Goods renovated and reopened its store at Latham Farms as a new interactive sporting complex. Plus, Capital Region outdoor enthusiasts welcomed the huge news that Bass Pro Shops was planning to open a store in Clifton Park. Now, you can add another new outdoor retailer to the list.
Sierra To Open Capital Region Retail Location
Think TJ Maxx, Marshall's, or Homegoods for outdoor the great outdoors. Formerly known as Sierra Trading Post, Sierra is owned by the same parent company as those to stores, and they apply the same discount premise to clothes for the great outdoors, fishing and camping gear, and pretty much anything else you could need to enjoy the great outdoors. You can shop them online, and soon you will be able to do so at a Capital Region brick-and-mortar store.
According to a Times Union story, Sierra is planning to open a 19,000+ square foot store at the Colonie Center. The store will be a part of the old Sears location, where a new Floor and Decor store will also be opening. The Times Union says no opening date has been set yet for the Sierra store.
The Sierra website says the store offers up "...epic brands at teeny, tiny prices. We pass those savings on to our customers in-store and online, which means you can score all the gear you need at prices generally 20‑60% less than department and specialty store prices."
