Dancia Patrick is now a full-time NASCAR driver in the Nationwide Series.  She is also racing part-time in the Sprint Cup Series this year for her team owner Tony Stewart. Prior to coming to NASCAR, Patrick was an IndyCar Series racer, but she has never raced on dirt before. Well, almost never.

Patrick has committed to drive in the Prelude to the Dream charity race at Eldora Speedway in Ohio on June 6. This annual event is a fund raiser that features major stars from several national touring motorsports series including NASCAR and the NHRA in this unique dirt-track Late Model event. Past winners include Kenny Wallace, Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson and Clint Bowyer.

For Patrick, it is her second race on dirt, if you count the time she was in a go-kart on a dirt track when she was about fourteen years old.

The list of drivers for this year's Prelude currently stands at 25.   In addition to Danica Patrick, NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart will be joined by Kyle Busch, Kenny Schrader, Ricky Carmichael, Austin Dillon, Jason Leffler,  J.J. Yeley, Clint Bowyer, Kasey Kahne, Kurt Busch, Dave Blaney, Tony Kanaan, Ron Capps, Jimmie Johnson, Justin Allgaier, Bill Elliott, Ray Evernham, David Gilliand, Cruz Pedregon, Ryan Newman, Bobby Labonte, Kenny Wallace, Ty Dillon and Aric Almirola.
