Cobleskill Fire Department 150th Anniversary Parade Coming

This is an astounding accomplishment. Think about this- a fire department celebrating it's (wait for it) 150th anniversary!!!   This calls for a celebration, and what's a celebration without a parade? 

This is one of their trucks circa 1923!  Gotta love the tires and the steering wheel! Being that the department is 150 years old, this was probably considered one of the high tech new model vehicles!

Anyway,  the celebration will begin with a parade on June 14, 2014 from SUNY Cobleskill to the Cobleskill Fairgrounds.  There are many events planned for the entire day beginning with a parade lining up at 8:30 AM at the SUNY Cobleskill parking lot and starting at 10:00 AM.

The events at the fairgrounds include a historical fire apparatus display, firematics, a classic car show, vendors/flea market, food, music by the Chicken Herders and Skeeter Creek and a fireworks display at dark.

There is NO deadline and space is unlimited. All are welcome and encouraged to celebrate.

There are several bed and breakfast establishments in the area. Hotel rooms have been blocked off at the Best Western Inn and the Super 8 and camping space available on sight if you would like to stay in the area over night
