Another Capital Region eatery has made the 'difficult decision' to close.

Whether it is restaurants or national retail chains in general recently, it feels like we are hearing about one closing after another. LL LumberRed Lobster, and Big Lots have all announced local closings recently, and now we can add the closure of a popular restaurant chain in Clifton Park.

Clifton Park TGI Fridays Shuts Down

Fans of a popular Clifton Park chain eatery were greeted with locked doors and a posting regarding the restaurant's closure on Sunday. The TGI Fridays, located at the Shops at Villages Plaza in Clifton Park, closed its doors for good effective Sunday, October 6th according to a message posted at the restaurant. The message read as follows:

We regret to inform you that Fridays has made the difficult decision to close our doors at Clifton Park, NY effective October 6, 2024. We are extremely grateful to our loyal Guests and our Team Members at our Clifton Park Restaurant. We can't wait to welcome you to our nearby location in Saratoga Springs, New York.

TGI Fridays Saratoga location is on Route 50, and according to the Fridays website is their last remaining restaurant in the Capital Region. The Fridays location in Guilderland closed late last year as part of a "streamlining" of operations.
