Big Lots has announced they will be closing additional stores as part of a bankruptcy restructuring, including 2 in New York state.
To say it has been a tough year to stay in business in the retail and restaurant sector would be an understatement. In 2024 alone chains like LL Lumber, Red Lobster, and more have announced nationwide store closures. These bankruptcy claims included plans to close Capital Region locations of all these popular national chains.

According to The Hill, Big Lots overall plans to close 550 stores with most of them closing by early 2025.
