Chime In On The Alec Baldwin Plane Incident

Hey!  Have you heard about the Alec Baldwin incident yet?  Should I actually insult your intelligence and explain?  Well, just in case, I'll summarize it, and then I'd love to hear what you think:

The 30 Rock star... was tossed from an American Air-lines flight on Tuesday after refusing to turn off his phone and throwing a temper tamper in the plane's bathroom ..

I didn't know about the bathroom part, personally.  I thought the altercation occurred right in his seat.   But be that as it may, I'll give you my skeptical opinion, and then I'd love to hear your point of view.

He's a big star.  He's been in the press many times before due to his over-the-top temper tantrums.  He knows try well that this stuff makes for great headlines, and feeds into his persona.

Let's put it this way.  If we wanted to get publicity for our show, I don't have to tell you that the best way to do it is to do something WRONG, not something right.

I bet if we staged a huge fight on the air, and one of us walked off in a huge huff-we'd have a much better chance of getting into the newspapers than if we did something good, like Pennies From Heaven.  But that's not how we roll.

But Hollywood is a different ballpark, obviously.  I'm skeptical.  I think it's being used as a ratings-getter for something.  Just my point of view.  I'm going to keep a look out to see if there's some new movie he's involved in or something.  Then it will make more sense.
