I love the small towns. The smaller the better, as far as I'm concerned, and this one is SMALL. Welcome once again to this installment of Your Town Thursday
Sometimes these things write themselves. Other times it's staring blankly at a blank page until something comes to mind. That's songwriting for ya. A big factor is the amount of information I am given beforehand. That's where hopefully you can come in for the next Your Town Thursday song
This was a tough assigment, I'm not gonna lie to you. Maybe a lot of Schodackians are on vacation. But somehow I got information the very last minute, thanks in part to devoted listener, Len Bates. Song to follow
It was an intense fight between Schodack and Fort Anne for the ultimate prize - a theme song custom written for their town by "Rhymin' Richie" of the Sean and Richie Show (boy, that's quite a build-up. I hope Richie can deliver). And the winner is? Drumroll...
In order to write a decent town theme song you need decent information, and thanks to Kathy Burbank of the Guilderland Chamber Of Commerce, I got it. Thanks, Kathy. Now let's commence with yet another Your Town Thursday song
Sorry, polls are closed. The results are in. Guilderland handily beat Granville to get their own theme song for the next installment of Your Town Thursday . That's step one - now I need your help giving me some interesting factoids.
I'm still getting many more requests to write songs for towns, and it's a thrill to do it. It's great to learn about towns that are right on our doorsteps. Here are two requests that keep coming up in conversation - Granvile and Averill Park. Which will it be? It's up to you to vote, folks!
I must admit, this Argyle song for Your Town Thursday was composed and produced while on the air, and sung live. It couldn't have been done without the technology we have these days, but somehow it came together, thanks in part to great information from Argyle residents. (I'll let you be the judge though)
I didn't forget you guys. Sorry that you came in second in the recent poll last week, but you put up a very good fight. You are next up for Your Town Thursday
We may have broken a record with this week's "Your Town Thursday". It was the overwhelming number of town nominations that was received, and I thank each and everyone for taking the time to write in. But there was also a slight problem
