Whenever there's an event at MVP Arena in downtown Albany, people always ask where is a good place to grab some dinner. Usually, the answer is short because there are very few places. The buildings directly across from the MVP Arena have sold and, fingers crossed, someone will open a restaurant or two.

After major retailer Bed Bath & Beyond closed locations across the country, many of those shuttered stores remain empty. There is an empty one in Albany County that is being transformed into a new HomeGoods store.

There was a proposal for an all-electric multi-use apartment complex in downtown Albany and it has officially gotten the green light!

More apartments are going up. But these won't be your average apartments. Many amenities are planned and they will fit in nicely in Saratoga Springs on seventeen acres.

It's a done deal! Finally, the sale has gone through for the Town of Malta and the legendary Mangino's Ristorante. The prime piece of real estate on Saratoga Lake has been up for sale and the hope was that it wouldn't go to a private developer. The Mangino Family and the Town of Malta have agreed on a deal.

There has been a lot of construction being done on the New York State Thruway Rest Areas and finally, we are starting to see some of the rest stops being completed. Although the first rest area is open, this is one of the smaller versions of what the other ones will look like. The Indian Castle rest area just 90 minutes west of Albany is beautiful with a Popeye's and Starbucks inside. It boasts a Starbucks drive-thru and a convenience store featuring a variety of New York state products.

Get ready because the Great New York State Fair begins this Wednesday, August 24th. There is still time to get your tickets. Not only can you get them for three dollars but there are also some helpful hints if you are heading out to Syracuse.
