Capital Region Veterans Day Freebies [LIST]

Today is Veterans Day. In celebration of all of those who put their lives on the line to fight for and protect our freedoms, many places in the Capital Region are offering freebies and deals for veterans.

Some of the Veterans Day deals are just for today and some last the rest of the month. These people fought to protect us and the least we can do is offer freebies and deals in gratitude. New York Upstate and Military Benefits put together complete lists, but we've narrowed it down to places in the area.

Various places in the Capital Region will be offering free meals/drinks with a military ID on Veterans Day: Applebees, BJ's, Chili's Bar and Grill, Bruegger's Bagels, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chipotle, Denny's, Dunkin Donuts, Golden Corral, Friendly's, Hooters, IHOP, Olive Garden, Red Robin, Red Lobster, Smashburger, Subway, Texas Roadhouse, T.G.I.Fridays, Starbucks, and Cumberland Farms.

Some places are offering other free food items off of their menu:

• Cracker Barrel has a complimentary slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake or a complimentary Pumpkin Pie Latte
• Little Caesars will have a free $5 HOT-N-READY lunch combo between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• Longhorn Steakhouse will offer a free appetizer or dessert and 10% off of the bill
• Bonefish Grill will give a free appetizer with the purchase of any entree on Veterans Day
• Carrabba's Italian Grill will have a free calamari appetizer with any purchase
• Outback Steakhouse will give "20% off the entire check for all servicemen and women, police officers, firefighters and first responders from November 8 to November 11. Starting November 12, the chain will institute 10 percent Heroes Discount for the same group as an ongoing offer"
• Price Chopper will give veterans a free coffee & donut
• Texas de Brazil will give 50% off dinner Monday, November 11 through Wednesday, November 13

Other businesses that don't serve food are also offering deals:

• BJ's Wholesale will take 30% off of membership fees
• Dollar General will give 11% off of qualifying items in-store and online
• Home Depot will give a 10% discount
• Target will give a 10% discount
• Albany Institute of History & Art will give veterans free admission all-day
• Veterans can drive the Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Parkway free all weekend
