Did you know that nearly 92% of all car seats are not used properly? We all know our kids are our most precious cargo. There is an event happening at a few locations in the Capital Region that will ensure your child's car seat is installed properly. It only takes a few minutes out of your day but it could save your child's life.

It's tough enough to be a parent and we want to make sure our kids are always safe. This event will not only help you install the child seat properly, but the trained technicians will help you understand how to choose the right seat for your child's age and size.

In conjunction with Child Passenger Safety Week, law enforcement and certified passenger safety technicians will be holding free child car seat checks this Saturday, September 25th according to News 10 ABC.

Governor Kathy Hochul said of the event:

Parents and caregivers have enough to worry about, so I hope they will take advantage of this opportunity to ensure their children are properly secured in the appropriate booster seat or car seat for their age and size. Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for children, but correctly using a car seat, booster seat or seat belt is the most effective way to keep them safe while on the road.

Members of state and local law enforcement will be on hand at these events throughout the Capital Region on Saturday.
