On Sunday, there was an alarm that alerted troopers to go to the former Stephentown Elementary School building, on State Route 43, which has been closed for about eight years.

In the story from the Times Union, when the troopers got to the building, they allegedly found someone inside. Thirty-four-year-old Kevin J. Hilt was arrested and was charged with Third-Degree Burglary. There were also some things that were in front of a door that were going to be taken out of the building, according to police.

He was also charged with Criminal Mischief because of some damage on the property that he allegedly did. Hilt was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.
