Cam Reddish Traded to the New York Knicks

Earlier today, it was announced that the New York Knicks had acquired Cam Reddish, the third-year pro out of Duke University. Drafted 10th overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2019 NBA Draft, the 6'8" small forward averaged over 13 points per game at Duke, where he was a teammate of RJ Barrett. Barrett and Reddish were two of the three top scorers on the Blue Devils that season, and the team made it all the way to the Regional Final before being upset.

Reddish debuted for the Atlanta Hawks in 2019, and averaged 10.5 points in 58 games as a rookie. His numbers increased as a sophomore in the NBA, but as the 2021-22 season has continued, Reddish has gradually lost playing time to a combination of DeAndre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kevin Huerter.

With that in mind, the Hawks made the move, and the New York Knicks were the beneficiary...

"The Knicks sent forward Kevin Knox II and a 2022 first-round draft pick via the Charlotte Hornets to the Hawks for Reddish, Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round pick (via Brooklyn). New York also waived Ryan Arcidiacono." - ESPN

As it turns out, Reddish's transition to New York will reunite him with his younger brother.

Reddish's Brother, Aaron, is a Freshman at UAlbany

While Cam is on his way to MSG, his brother, Aaron, is currently embroiled in his freshman campaign at the University at Albany, under head coach, Dwayne Killings. The younger Reddish has played in 14 of the Great Danes' 15 games this season, and has scored 29 points in 129 minutes of action thus far in his career.

Reddish was a member of the Second All-Region Team at Pebblebrook High School, where he averaged 15 points per game as a senior. Reddish was a three-star recruit, and signed with the Great Danes in May of this year.

With the trade becoming official today, the Reddish reign in New York can officially begin.
