Lindsay Nielson from News 10 ABC called into the morning show today with breaking news about the potentially deadly tick virus known as the Powassan virus that has already taken the life of one Saratoga County man.  Hear the audio and find out what's being done to prevent this disease from spreading, right here.

One man is currently hospitalized and there is most likely another case of this potentially deadly disease being spread throughout Saratoga County, according to Lindsay Nielson. She also shared news that efforts are being made to collect as many ticks as possible by the Department of Health to find out why this becoming such a problem in Saratoga County.  News 10 ABC will have updates throughout the day and will feature news stories at 4, 5, and 6 pm.

You can reduce the risk of getting tick-borne illnesses by using tick repellents, wearing long sleeves and pants, avoiding bushy and wooded areas, and doing tick checks after spending time outdoors.
