The Business Review’s 2016 Schools Report, which will be released on Friday, but we got a sneak peek of it today when the numbers for the best public schools for English were released.

Voorheesville Central School District took the top position for English test scores in the 11-county Capital Region, up from 4th place last year.

The results are based on an analysis of scores on public elementary and middle school English language arts tests and high school Regents exams taken from the most recent data available, the 2014-15 school year.

Niskayuna finished second, and last year’s winning school, Bethlehem, fell to No. 3.
