It's National Fried Chicken Day and we've tallied up your votes to determine the best restaurants for fried chicken in the Capital Region.

With all the talk of Chicken sandwiches over the past few years, I thought the time was right to go on a quest to determine the Capital Region's best fried chicken. While all these Chick-Fil-A, Popeye's, and other sandwiches are great, nothing beats the all-time classic: a basket full of crispy battered fried chicken. And yes a national chain was certainly eligible in this informal poll, but our real quest was for those amazing local recipes that bring something special to that crispy fried goodness.

That really is the secret to great fried chicken: those secret recipe wrinkles you just don't know about, not to mention the process of perfecting the frying process. Great fried chicken is an art form!
