Some residents in a North Greenbush neighborhood saw a little more than the usual animals that normally are seen, like skunks, deer and fox. On Monday afternoon, they saw a bear. According to a story in the Times Union, Jennifer Edwards of Teliska Avenue, not far from Route 4, saw a bear cub strolling across her lawn. It wasn’t a full grown bear.

When residents called authorities, police told them there wasn’t much they could do about it, because it wasn’t aggressive. Apparently it does happen more often than people think. It seems that this little guy may have been wandering a little too far from the wooded area where he may have been from.

I looked up something that was suggested to keep a bear away and one thing I read was to keep in mind that bears don’t like loud noises, so try banging pots and pans and yelling at the top of your lungs. I’m not sure if that works well, so do you have any other ideas?
