Authorities Respond To Suspicious Device At Albany International Airport
This had to be a very frightening situation especially on this somber day.
Some scary moments at Albany International Airport after a suspicious electronic device was discovered, earlier today. An officer from the Transportation Security Administration Bomb Appraisal Officer contacted the Albany County Sheriff’s Department after the officer saw that a passenger had what was thought to be a possible Improvised Explosive Device.
It was discovered that the passenger was an active Navy member who training in Ballston Spa with the Knolls Atomic Facility. That passenger was accompanied with two other Navy personnel. In the story that I saw on WNYT, it was confirmed that all three passengers are stationed in Washington at a Trident Training Facility.
Overall, most people didn’t even know that there was anything was going on especially since the airport never went into lockdown mode, and there was no interruption of air traffic.
