Another Capital Region Casino Proposal: The Schenectady Plan

The Capital Region has another casino proposal to consider. Schenectady County officials announced today their plan for a local casino.

The Galesi Group is teaming up with Rush Street Gaming to potentially complete the project called Rivers Casino at Mohawk Harbor. The Galesi Group and Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy said the project would create 1,000 construction jobs and additional full time employment opportunities.

If approved, the casino could be open in 2 years!  This is part of a bigger project along the Mohawk River & Erie Blvd. the Galesi Group is completing.

The Rivers Casino at Mohawk joins other Capital Region Casino proposals seeking approval, like the one announced last week in East Greenbush and a casino proposal at Howe Caverns.
