Albany Snow Update: Winter Storm Gail To Dump Up to A FOOT

A Nor'easter is on track to hit Upstate New York Wednesday night and potential snowfall totals are coming into focus.

After initial reports last week of a big potential snowfall for Albany this Wednesday, we are now getting a clearer picture of what to expect from our first big snow event of the season!

According to the Weather Channel, winter storm Gail (Yes, she has a name now) is on track to arrive Wednesday and as of now should bring 8 to 12 inches of snow to most of the Capital Region. The Weather Channel says the storm will arrive during the day Wednesday, with most of the snow falling Wednesday night and eventually tapering off Thursday morning.

So just think of Gail like your Aunt Gail, who comes barrelling in like a Nor'easter every Christmas and piles up so many gifts under your tree it takes a day to dig through all of them. Except for this year, Gail is giving you a foot of snow instead. Maybe if you hate snow you are hoping Gail doesn't get you anything this year. If you love snow, it will be the best Christmas ever!
