Albany Now Looking At 2 Ample Snowfalls This Week
Things are starting to get interesting this winter.
To start, has Punxsutawney Phil ever been more accurate with his Groundhog Day weather forecast? The 6 weeks of more winter prediction kicked right into gear with plenty of snow and cold weather, and now for the week ahead, we are looking at not one but two decent snowmakers!
As we reported a few days ago, the Weather Channel is calling for snow to start Monday and fall into Tuesday, and it is now looking like that storm could bring up to 11 inches of snow. So snowmaker number one will kick off your week with a good chunk of fresh powder.
Now looking a few days past that, another storm is developing. The Weather Channel says more snow will arrive Thursday and will continue into Thursday night, with another 4 to 8 inches possible. This storm will be a little messier as it will shift to a wintry mix and that accumulation will be a mix of snow and ice. This storm looks like it will be a slower mover with precipitation falling Thursday right through your evening commute on Friday. What a fun way to end the week!
Even if you love snow, one storm on top of another like this gets pretty annoying as all you will be doing is digging out this coming week and fighting through messy conditions to get to and from work. If you are getting sick of the snow and you are just ready for spring, there is a light at the end f the tunnel - your spring outlook is calling for warmer than normal temperatures!
