Many of you have heard me mention how I live off of Lark Street in the Center Square part of Albany.  Last night I was a few blocks away from the 2 alarm, 3 building fire that filled the air with intense smoke as Albany, Troy, and Watervliet Firefighters battled the blaze.  Some of my fellow Center Square neighbors took some incredible photos of the harrowing fire that displaced 16.

By the time I got home from the gym last night I was able to see sirens and tons of flashing lights just a few hundred feet away from where I live.  It was hard for me to tell just what was happening but as texts kept coming in from people asking if I was OK, I knew it was a pretty bad situation.  Thankfully none of our brave firefighters were hurt as they fought the fire well into the night.  As smoke filled my living from a few hundred feet away, I could only imagine what the first responders were dealing with.  As a Center Square Albany resident, all I can say at this time is "Thank You"
