Get Your Car Checked At Albany’s AAA Car Care Days

Autumn is here, which means we're just a few short months away from the brutal winters that Upstate New York is known for.

Aside from preparing your wardrobe and space heaters, you'll also want to make sure your car is prepared for the winter weather, and AAA is here to help.

AAA Car Care Day

Saturday, October 25th, 2025 is AAA's Car Care Day in the Hudson Valley. This is a day intended for you to ensure your car is prepared for the frigid winter weather the Capital Region is sure to bring. The event will be held at the AAA Albany Office, 616 Delaware Ave, Albany from 10am to 2pm.

At this event, AAA will check the parts of your vehicle most likely to be impacted by winter weather, such as your tires, battery, lights, and more. While they won't upgrade any of these, they can let you know of any issues so you can be set to go by the time winter rolls around.

What Will You Need to Prepare for Winter?

As stated before, checking you battery, lights, and tires is essential to keeping your vehicle healthy in colder weather. Your cooling system is another that you should periodically check in on through winter, ensuring it has winter cooling fluid with de-icer before hitting the roads.

You should also make sure your vehicle is stocked with essentials like an ice scraper, jumper cables, charging cables, and blankets. These will help in almost every situation you could run into during an overnight freeze.
