Albany Area Hotel Is On The Auction Block

If you ever thought about owning a hotel, this might be your chance.

The Holiday Inn on Wolf Road in Colonie is slated to be put up for auction next month.

The 312 room hotel, formerly known as The Turf Inn and The Holiday Inn Turf, has some financial issues. According to the story that I saw on WNYT, the current owners have a pretty hefty outstanding loan for one of the largest Albany area hotels.

Through the years, The Holiday Inn was the place where WGNA and yours truly hosted many country dance nights and parties in the bars housed in the hotel - Fenders and Playfields,
