Time to get ready for a three day weekend and it's time once again for another blast from the past with this week's edition of Flashback Friday. Since I was off last week I thought I would give ya a double dose of great country tunes for all the hard working folks out there on this Labor Day weekend.

First of all we go back to 1985 for a big #1 hit from Randy Owen and the rest of Alabama "40 Hour Week (For A Livin').

The song was released in April of 1985 from the album of the same name. It became Alabama's 17th #1 single in August.  It's a great salute to all the hard working Americans across the country and still stands true today.

For my second selection, we go back to 1993 and a big top 5 hit for Kix and Ronnie AKA Brooks & Dunn with "Hard Workin' Man".

The song, released in the Winter of 1993, peaked at #4 on the Billboard charts later that year. It wasn't the duo's biggest charting hit, but it did win them a Grammy for Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals the following year.

I hope everybody has a fun and safe Labor day weekend. Get out there and enjoy it! Be sure to check back here next week as I feature more great country tunes from the past!
