A Boy With No Friends Would Love A ‘Happy Birthday’ Wish From You: Here’s How To Do It!

There is a Mom in Kalamazoo Michigan who needs your help making sure her son has a really happy birthday this year. Colin is turning 11 on March 9th. He has a disability similar to Asperger's and because of it, he doesn't make connections with other children.In fact because it causes him to act out the other kids really want nothing to do with him.

When Colin's Mom, Jennifer asked him if he'd like to have a party on his birthday he told her no, because he didn't have any friends. So, just 11 days ago Jennifer created a Facebook page, "Happy Birthday Colin". She had hoped that a few people would wish him a Happy Birthday, they did. As of right now 1.6 million people have "liked" the page and wished Colin a Happy Birthday. While that is awesome I think everyone would like to see that number grow even higher before March 9th.

On the Facebook page Jennifer writes:

"I am Colin's mom, I created this page for my amazing, wonderful, challenging son who is about to turn 11 on March 9th. Because of Colin's disabilities, social skills are not easy for him, and he often acts out in school, and the other kids don't like him. So when I asked him if he wanted a party for his birthday, he said there wasn't a point because he has no friends. He eats lunch alone in the office everyday because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone in the office. So I thought, if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party. Please join me in making my very original son feel special on his day."

The best part is that Colin to this point has no idea this is going on! Imagine how incredible he is going to feel on his birthday. The demand was so intense that Jennifer also decided to open a Post Office box in case anyone wanted to send Colin a card. If you would like to send a card just address it to: Colin, P.O. I really think this is a wonderful idea, and one only a great Mom would come up with. How about we all show Colin a little love and at the very least go and "Like" the birthday page!
