With the MegaMillions and the PowerBall jackpots each over seven hundred million dollars, it's easy to lose sight of the small jackpots that it seems Capital Region residents are cashing in on. This time fifty-five thousand dollars. I have always dreamed of hitting the lottery. I still think that someday I will. I'm not sure that it will be the enormous jackpots like the MegaMillions which is up to eight hundred fifty million and the Powerball at seven hundred thirty million dollars, but I would take a few thousand dollars and be happy. This is what happened to someone that bought a ticket in Waterford.

According to News 10 ABC, there was a winning ticket sold worth fifty-five thousand one hundred thirty-four dollars and fifty cents at a Stewart's Shoppe in Waterford. It was for the TAKE-5 drawing on January 17th. I don't play the TAKE-5 but it seems that lately in the Capital Region, people have been cashing in. The last big fifty-five thousand dollar winner was in my hometown of Mechanicville. The weird thing is, this Waterford Stewart's is also one that I frequent. It is on Guideboard Road.

Although we don't know who won this large lottery jackpot, I do know that fifty-five plus thousand dollars, although not life-changing, a huge help to anyone. The winner has a year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

The TAKE-5 New York Lottery is drawn and televised each day at 10:30 pm. You pick five numbers from one to thirty-nine. Let's be real, at least we would have a better chance of winning the TAKE-5 than the MegaMillions and the Powerball drawings. Anyway, good luck!
