2013 Country Idol Finalists Prepare To Win $5,000

WGNA is ready to dish out $5,000 and crown a new Country Idol for 2013. Thursday, June 20, 2013 the best singers in the Northeast will hit the stage at Vapor in Saratoga Casino and Raceway to impress the judges one final time.

Over the course of 5 months, contestants registered to sing at WGNA.com. Every month at Vapor, 20 singers were selected at random to perform with the top 5 scoring singers of each night receiving an invitation to perform at the finals. Throughout the competition, each singer was scored on appearance (10 points), stage presence (15 points), and vocals (25 points).

The same system will be used at the finale with 4 judges, instead of the usual 3, determining the winner. First, the top 25 finalists will each sing one song. After that round, the top 5 scoring singers will be invited back to sing one more song. After the second performance of the night, the highest scoring contestant wins $5,000 and the title of Country Idol. Doors open at 7pm, finals start at 8pm sharp. 21 and over, no cover charge.
