Thursday, May 16, 2013 are the final audition rounds for Country Idol 2013.

It's been a great season of showcasing some of the best singers in the Northeast during Country Idol 2013. Now, the final auditions will take place at Budweiser Country Night on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Vapor in Saratoga Casino and Raceway. Twenty contestants are selected at random, 10 from wgna.com and 10 in person, to impress the judges. The top 5 scoring singers advance to the finals on Thursday, June 20, 2013 to compete for $5,000!

The final panel of judges for the audition rounds will include Pat Stacey of the NY Players, WGNA's Lou Roberts, and Renee Lussier from Skeeter Creek. Lussier is a well known Country Music vocalist, who found her home in Skeeter Creek in 2011, after performing with popular bands like Branchwater and Loose Cannon.

Lussier tells us what she's looking for in a Country Idol winner: "I think that a Country Idol should be someone who has a great voice and stage presence, has a humbling personality, represents his/herself as an individual, displays confidence, and can truly live up to the title of being an "Idol" by presenting themselves as someone others can look up to for advice and support."

The final Auditions for Country Idol will happen on Thursday, May 16 with the $5,000 finals scheduled on Thursday, June 20.  By the way, make plans to join us for a special Country Night on Thursday, August 1! As part of Vapor's 'Party For A Cause,' we'll be country dancing to help the Cornell Cooperative Extension.
