The Academy Awards are on Sunday night on ABC.  It's always very interesting to see which of the nominated movies gets all the "props". Sometimes I agree with them, and sometimes I think they're smoking something!  Let's see where YOU stand on this.

Usually Hollywood likes to paint the perfect picture of the ideal life, but there are often movies created based on single parent life.  Sure, most of them have a happy ending to a somewhat difficult life, but who wants to be sad when the movie ends?

We are smack dab in the middle of the holiday season. Everyone is out Christmas shopping, Holiday songs are on the radio and many of the television networks are breaking out the Christmas movies. There are a ton of great one's to choose from and here are just a few of mine.  See if you agree.

I know.  I can't believe the headline myself.  To see it in print is even weirder, but it is true.  I guess when you're long standing nickname is "Rhymin'", it would make perfect sense to be picked for Dr. Seuss, but to work with Martina McBride?  LOL.  OMG. CTBFR. (can this be for real?)

It's Thanksgiving week, and we're thankful for all the new movies hitting theaters in the next few days. There's plenty of family adventure, action and drama coming to the big screen, with new releases hitting on Wednesday and Friday.

It's Halloween and it's time for all the ghosts and goblins and scary creatures to come out trick or treating tonight. It's also the time of year that many cable channels show marathons of scary movies. I have been watching a lot of AMC and IFC the last few days. I absolutely love horror movies and here are a few of my all time favorites.

You have to be able to change with the times.  That's what everybody tells you.  But expensive technology leaves you no change in your pocketbook, and you are forced to adapt, then you start getting a little bitter about it.  I saw this in the Albany Times Union and it got me thinking.

Consider this weekend a study of three animation companies. Temporarily forget about ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ and ‘Ted‘ and ‘Moonrise Kingdom.’ What do the box office numbers of ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift,’ ‘Brave‘ and ‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted‘ tell us about their respective studios? ‘Ice Age’ won the weekend, but is it actually a winner?

Everyone knows it's hard to be a man in this woman's world. Sure we have made strides and I know we have a long way to go but until this morning, I thought we were really making progress. Today I wake up to Facebook post after Facebook post about this trashy movie called "Magic Mike" that is coming out tonight.

Iconic movie lines are “trending” on Yahoo! a while ago.  I LOVE movie quotes.   When you can slip them into a conversation to make someone laugh, or just going back and forth trying to come up with classic movie lines while drinking twisted tea on your porch, I mean…...

Recently there was a trending hashtag on Twitter, #MoviesICanWatchAnyTime. Basically, what movies can you stop and watch no matter what, even if you have a copy on DVD or Blu-Ray or even VHS in your home?  I think many of us do this from time to time, I sure know that I do and here is my list of movies that are my personal favorites.
