Rascal Flatts Confess About ACM Performance

The big talk after the ACM Awards was about one performance that seemed a little to 'perfect' for a live show- Rascal Flatts singing 'Rewind!'

It's not the first time, and it won't be the last, that a singer has been called out for giving a lip synched performance. Rascal Flatts confessed to TMZ that they did fake their performance, but they had a good reason.

Rascal Flatts tells TMZ ... their lead singer Gary lost his voice last week after performing several shows -- so instead of cancelling the ACM gig at the last second ... they made the call to lip sync.

Whether or not you agree with lip synched performances, we should all give the guys credit for stepping up and admitting why they did it. Rascal Flatts told TMZ "We've never done it before, and we're obviously not very good at it."

Considering the song 'Rewind' is currently climbing the charts, we can understand why they guys didn't want to miss the exposure the song would receive by performing it on the Academy of Country Music Awards.
