JEWEL MOORE, a high-school junior from Farmville, Virginia, started a petition on Change.org to get Disney to make a movie about a Plus-Sized Princess.

Jewel is plus-size herself, beautiful, and wise beyond her years.  Her petition states, quote, "Studies show that a child's confidence correlates greatly with how much representation they have in the media."

She says, "It would make many young girls feel confident and worthy to see a strong character that looks like them.  This move on Disney's part would have an amazing positive ripple effect in people all around the world."

Disney has many different princesses, thanks to "Aladdin""Mulan""Pocahontas" and "The Princess and the Frog".  So Jewel thinks  it's time for the next frontier . . . A plus-sized princess.

We asked our Facebook friends what they think, and reviews were mixed.  Some folks were saying that doing that would promote obesity in our children, while others were saying that every child should have a princess to represent her.  What do you think?

Her petition is doing quite well - last I checked it had more than 18,000 signatures!
