I am so excited to get down to Daytona for the first race of the new NASCAR season! It's almost my unofficial EARLY welcome to spring. This is about the time of year I start checking out the websites for the changes in cars and drivers for the year, try to get up to speed on all the changes that always take place. What I found today though is not a change I expected.
Earlier I wrote "An open letter to Richard Sherman" of the Seattle Seahawks in regard to his post game antics last night, and the many other occurrences of bad sportsmanship that he has shown. I wrote it with love and tried very hard to understand where he comes from and tried to help him to learn some things that life has taught me the hard way. In the end though, that is football, one man and in the end will not really effect me or you.
Our politicians however, effect all of us tremendously. That is why it is with a little bit less "understanding" that I write this "Open Letter To Governor Andrew Cuomo". I should also note that this letter could and should be directed at all of these so called leaders we have running our towns, states and country.
Before I begin this letter to Richard for those of you who have not seen the latest in the "trash talking" controversies that Mr. Sherman has found himself in, I will include this video from the post game interview from last night's game.
I should preface this letter by telling you that I am in total awe of not only your skills and talent on the field but also of your achievements in education and charity. I know like me, you come from a place of very little means and even less promise of a bright future. I know that making a commitment as a child to rise above circumstance through hard work and perseverance takes a kind of bravery and yes, bravado that most people will never understand.
So the producers of "Jersey Shore" have come out with a brand new show on CMT called "Party Down South". I do remember seeing a commercial for it at one point but I totally forgot that it would be debuting last night on the network. This morning, more than one person on my Facebook feed have said that they LOVE IT.
As you know my friends I am always scouring the internet to find you the best videos. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes they are inspirational and sometimes they are just shocking. This one I think is a must see for a whole new reason, it's real, it's honest and it's just that good.
I tell ya, some days Maureen just seems to really hit the mark when she is on our show. Today was definitely one of those days. Usually, I have time to talk to her for a few minutes before we get to the calls so she can kind of get the psychic juices flowing, today, we dove right into the phones. I feel like she was pretty good right off the bat but she got better and better with each call.
If you missed Pet Connection today on the Sean and Richie Show, here is another chance for you to take a look at a couple of great pets up for adoption. Let's take a look at the pets featured today. Tune in every Thursday at 7:20 a.m. to hear the stories of incredible (and adoptable!) pets.
With the passing of the resolution to allow casino gambling in New York State there has been a whole lot of speculation on where in the Capital District one would be. The obvious area would of course be Saratoga where they already have horse racing and the video gaming machines. Now, according to a recent article in the Times Union, we may find one built in Albany where the old Tobin's First Prize building is , just off I90.
I can not believe I had not heard about this show before today! It looks so cool and both the producer and one of the stars of the show are from right here in Hoosick Falls. The show "Building Wild" is produced by George Verschoor from Hoosick Falls and stars Pat “Tuffy” Bakaitis who has owned the excavation company Hoosick Sand & Gravel for over 35 years.
