There are plenty of local ski mountains in and around the Capital Region and this summer they are remaining open to offer different activities to help recoup what was lost during the pandemic. If you are traveling the Northway or out toward Queensbury, you may see the ski lift running full-time.

Over the winter, the ski mountains were full of skiers and snowboarders but there were some restrictions. We went tubing on West Mountain over the winter and had a blast. Everyone who was skiing, snowboarding, or tubing complied with the restrictions and we happy to be on the trails. Now ski resorts are getting creative and staying open for the summer season.

West Mountain decided that they will open this summer with all the different activities to do on the mountain and along its trails. When you ride the ski lift up to the summit, you can check out the rope climbing course and the zip lines. They are also offering summer camps and picnics according to News 10 ABC. There are twenty cross-country and mountain biking trails.

We are always looking for fun and different things to do in the summer and we had so much fun tubing this past winter, I can't wait to go to West Mountain this summer. I am not sure I am as adventurous to try the downhill mountain bike trails but I'm always up for a picnic on the top of the mountain.

Last summer, West Mountain offered some of these activities and helped them stay afloat during the pandemic.
