Carol Hotaling is a lady from Clifton Park that started something very special that she's extremely passionate about, back in 2006. Because of what she did she’s called the Yellow Ribbon Lady. She started to make yellow ribbons and bows to remember our troops. She came up with the idea for Yellow Ribbon Day and contacted the New York State Assembly and New York State Senate. Carol felt the need to do something for the troops, something to remember them. Every year, the Assembly and Senate pass it officially and every year, they declare April 9 Yellow Ribbon Day. There have been articles about Carol in The Times Union and The Saratogian.

The ceremony for Yellow Ribbon Day is proudly hosted by the Town Of Halfmoon, and will take place at 2 Halfmoon Town Plaza in Halfmoon. This year’s celebration starts at 11:00 a.m.
