Every Wednesday we bring you back with a Musical Memory on WGNA's Country Cafe.

As we approach Countryfest 2014, we rewind the clock and feature the first No. 1 hits from Countryfest performers John Michael Montgomery and Montgomery Gentry.

John Michael Montgomery kicked off his career with the 1992 single 'Life's A Dance.' The song peaked at Number Four and helped launch his career. The follow up single from 1993, 'I Love The Way You Love Me,' topped the charts and became the first of many No. 1 records he would score in the '90s.

This week's WGNA.com "Way Back Wednesday" feature is the first chart topper for John's brother's duo Montgomery Gentry, made up of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. In 1999, they release their first single "Hillbilly Shoes." They would release 11 more singles, with 5 hitting the Top 10, before going all the way to Number One with 2004's 'If You Ever Stop Loving Me.'
