TRAFFIC ALERT: Route 9 In Malta Closed After Shooting At State Police Barracks

There is an ongoing investigation after state police engaged a gunman outside the Saratoga Barracks.

According to a Facebook post from the New York State Police, earlier this afternoon a man carrying a hunting rife fired several rounds at the Saratoga State Police Barracks in Malta.

The report says the suspect was fatally wounded after being engaged by the state police.

The state police say there is no current threat to public safety. Due to an ongoing investigation, Route 9 is closed in both directions between the State Route 67 traffic circle at Dunning Street and Saratoga Village Boulevard."
